Here is the latest update from Whitstable manager Lloyd Blackman after the players reported back for pre-season training on Tuesday.
“I’m delighted to announce the signing of young Tarik Ibrahim for the up and coming season. Tarik is an exciting forward player who can play on either wing. Meetings and conversations with Tarik over the last month were extremely positive and as I’ve said before, he is a player who fits the style in which we want to play. He is explosive and exciting and will certainly be someone who, if he continues to work hard, will develop into an outstanding player.
Also joining for this season is physio Andrea Gencarelli. Never have I had the privilege to work with a physio of such knowledge and experience. Andrea has worked in Italy for the Serie A outfit Torino, amongst some other high level clubs. He brings a level of professionalism that all at the club will benefit from.
Welcome aboard Tarik and Andrea.
I’m looking forward to seeing the oyster boys at Thanet United on Tuesday night at Hartsdown Park for our first pre-season game. Sessions have been intense and the boys are gelling well. Fitness levels have been recorded and we’ll continue to gradually increase the load and demand over the next 5-6 weeks to be in the best condition come the first league game on August 17th.
We will also be holding a “meet the manager and staff” evening at the club on Wednesday 17th July, starting at 7.30 p.m. It would be great for myself and the staff to meet all you fantastic supporters, as I can update you with how things have been going and answer any questions you may have.
See you all soon.”
Meanwhile a new league sponsor is scheduled to be announced on Monday 8th July, league fixtures should be released on Thursday 11th July with the FA competition draws following on Friday 12th July.
