Corinthian XI 1 Whitstable Town U21s 2
Thursday 21st August 2014
The last pre-season game of the season versus Corinthian for the u21s, a game essentially for the final checks on who will play the first game and to see how we are progressing with our preparation. After the promising performances so far we were expecting the team to play well but we started poorly not as in other games. The first half was poor with the game objectives not being achieved, however we did manage to create seven or eight clear chances and perhaps if these were scored the game would have been different but we went into the half time break 1-0 down. The second half was much better after some changes to the playing personnel and the team seemed more balanced and this showed as we took control of the tempo and much of the play. We scored two goals, the first by Jack Sayer and the second by Andy Mcginty, and created numerous chances the Corinthian goalkeeper had a brilliant second half saving at least four clear goals. The team responded well and we can look forward to a good season on the preseason performances.
