Bognor Regis Town, Heybridge Swifts and Whitstable Town are the Ryman League’s first performance kings of 2016.

Unveiled on Tuesday as Macron’s Performance of the Month winners for December, the trio are now looking forward to being presented with glass trophies to mark their achievements at upcoming fixtures by representatives of the league and sponsors Macron.

Bognor Regis Town and manager Jamie Howell are no strangers to Macron’s monthly competition to recognise and reward the Ryman’s top performers. Having already collected October’s laurels, the Rocks are the first club this term to double up after winning the sponsor’s final honours of 2015 in the Ryman Premier.

In winning the award, Howell’s side wrote national headlines in the FA Trophy, the Rocks pulling off one of the shocks of the first round proper by beating last season’s Ryman League champions Maidstone United 1-0 at their Gallagher Stadium in Kent on Saturday 12 December.

Macron’s Ryman North winners Heybridge Swifts also won the division’s honours for a 1-0 win on Saturday 12 December, Jody Brown’s relegation threatened side beating promotion chasing AFC Hornchurch by a single goal at Scraley Road to collect three precious points in their bid for survival.

There can’t have been too many doubts about where Macron’s final Ryman South award of 2015 was heading after Whitstable Town pulled off one of the shock results of the festive period, the bottom of the table Oystermen winning 2-0 at Winch’s Field, home to their play-off chasing neighbours Herne Bay, on Monday 27 December.
