Award 1At the Ryman League’s Annual Banquet & Ball, at the Wembley Hilton over the weekend, Whitstable Town were presented with one of the three Respect Winning Trophies & a cheque for £1,000.

Town were the Top placed Club in the Southern section of the Ryman League & 2nd overall out of 72 Clubs, based upon their disciplinary record & touchline behavior; a tremendous feat of achievement in reality for which the Clubs leadership and codes of conduct underpinned that achieved on the field.

The FA’s initiative, now widely supported by Leagues throughout the country first came about to help improve the standards within the game & retain Referee’s.

The Ryman League’s other Respect Winners were Bognor Regis Town from the Premier Division, with the North section’s Soham Town Rangers – the overall winners.
The weekend was League Chairman Alan Turvey’s last formal duties as his 33yr reign as Chairman came to an emotional end; Turvey was succeeded by the League’s Vice Chairman Nick Robinson at the AGM on Sunday.
