Whitstable Town were delighted to support Demelza Hospice for Children with their combined efforts from the Management & Players through their Movember growth, whilst a bucket collection at the gates topped it up from their recent Home fixture vs. Ryman League South rivals Chipstead.
Long time Oyster supporter, Steve Dale (seen in both pictures) whom organised the link with Demelza said:
‘Thanks again not only for the opportunity to collect for Demelza but for the hospitality afforded Jan and me after the match.
“Adding life to days when days cannot be added to life” – the words so meaningful for the young people and their families helped by Demelza Hospice Care for Children and taken on board again by Whitstable Town Football Club. The joint managers and some of the players having raised monies in ‘Movember’ were joined by the crowd at the home game against Chipstead last Saturday with a bucket collection at the gates bringing the total raised to not far short of £200.00.
Demelza are extremely grateful to the chairman and club for their latest efforts and look forward to any future fund raising they can do for the charity……’
Joint Managers, Jim & Danny Ward commented that their team & squad of players were delighted to raise funds for such a charity & thanked all the players for taking part.
Chairman Gary Johnson, pictured with Jim & Danny Ward – Steven Dale & the players, said ‘Demelza is such a great & worthy charity so it was an easy choice to make this donation to them; its also based in the village in where I live and I know from my visits & involvement with Demelza over the years how much they need the support. Their staff are so dedicated the children for whom they care – it’s a fantastic choice. I’d also like to thank Ryman League Chipstead Football Club & their fans for contributing at the gate too; all have made a difference. It’s great to put something back into the community and I thank Steve Dale, a long time supporter and who represented Demelza.’
