RESERVES WIN AGAIN

Whitstable Town Reserves 5 Woodstock Sports Reserves 1

Despite starting the game with three regular starters missing, Whitstable went into the game with the knowledge that Woodstock had got a point off Herne Bay. The game started with Woodstock defending very doggedly but there was a huge surprise on 25 minutes when a massive cross of some 40 yards sailed into the corner of the Town net. Whitstable continued to press ,but the Woodstock defence somehow managed to keep out wave after wave of attack.

The second half had barely started when a Whitstable put the ball wide of the goalkeeper to bring the scores level. Within two minutes Whitstable were 2-1 up and Woodstock were beginning to get tired and after another six minutes Town scored again. On an hour Town made their only two substitutions. At this stage they got more on top scoring in the 79th and 80th minutes to make it five-one. The final comment from coach Graham Barker who said “ it was nice to keep up with the bigger sides in the league but there’s still plenty of work to do in training.”
