I  thought it was about time I gave all oystermen fans,  a rundown of what should have been a decent first half of the season. First we have to talk about the lack of football. We have NOT had a game since the beginning of November , which I believe is the longest run I have ever known not to be playing football. It certainly has not helped the first team management integrate some more reserves into the first team set up. We, as the reserves, have seen changes in training, drills, set ups, phases of play as Nicky has made several changes for the better.  I believe the first team has signed around about ten reserves which is good news for the club.

We  as a squad have managed to stay up there with the three big reserve teams at Maidstone United, Herne Bay and Chatham Town, (all three very good reserve set ups). This has been a learning curve for some of the reserves who have come in from under18 football, but they have acquitted themselves very well. We are still in all the cup competitions, which is great for these players many who haven’t played in senior cup competitions. The floodlight trophy is our chance to give all squad players a chance to shine, as well as some under18s.

We are looking to recruit a couple of players to see us through the hardest part of the season during January & February. These have been identified and should be in soon .

The last thing is to wish all fans,  players, management, committee members, a very good 2013,  thank you for your support.

Bob,  Lee, Graham and Chris
