Whitstable Town Reserves 4 Erith Town Reserves 1

Hurlimann Kent League Division 1

Saturday 20th April 2013

With Erith Town in second place, Whitstable could not afford to slip up in Saturday’s game. The visitors are one of the only two sides to beat us and Town knew they would be in for a very hard game against a decent side. The hosts absolutely raced out of the blocks and went straight on the offensive putting the visitors defence under  pressure from the start and having quite a few chances to open the scoring. The home side eventually opened their account when Reardon made contact with the ball from a corner and bundled the ball over the line. Erith Town equalised almost immediately, when one of their forwards raced through only for Nick Shaw to save, but Erith scored from the rebound

Town began the second half with their midfield well on top and this allowed the hosts to score the second goal, This seemed to deflate the visitors and Town got better and better as the game progressed. They were able to score two more quick goals, which allowed Town the comfort of putting on all three substitutes. Each player put in a very good shift and totally outplayed a very good Erith Town side.

Comments from the bench: Tthe players put in 100% , a superb performance by all and with all compliments to the squad today for creating an excellent performance. Also thank you to all the supporters who turned up today, and the very complimentary comments that were received.
