Ramsgate Reserves 1 Whitstable Town Reserves 5

The Reserves travelled to Ramsgate knowing they were in for a tough game against a well organised ‘Gate team. Town started well putting pressure on the home defence and when a well driven cross was converted to put Town one up. Town got a deserved second in the 25th minute. The 2-0 score line was a fair reflection on the first half.

The Rams started a little better in the second half but with little pressure Town still managed to play some very good football. However on 60 minutes Ramsgate pulled one back. This just seemed to drive the Town on and they went straight up the other end and scored again. This completely finished the game as a spectacle with Town scoring two goals.

The final word came from Ram’s assistant Louis Crow who said “we simply could not cope with Whitstable’s running, pace and power  and they are such a young team !!!
