It’s been a hectic week since the appointment of the Ward brothers (Jim & Danny) as Joint Managers; both of whom have fully thrown themselves into the challenge with energy & passion not seen for some time.

With the majority of the previous Management Team departing, the Ward’s have acted swiftly in appointing Will Graham as First Team Coach & Youth Development Officer; one of his primary roles being to link up with the U18s & U21s Managers ensuring continued player development & progression through to the First Team wherever possible.

Whilst a number of current players were highlighted as players to remain at the Club and have since been offered terms to stay; others have been spoken to in order to ensure all have had the opportunity to express their own desire to either play for their places or move on.

Both Jim & Danny are pleased to confirm that fans favorites Luke Watkins & Scott Heard have put pen to paper, together with a number of others that include Jake Mackenzie & Joe Lester.

Also re-joining Jim & Danny are there former players that include the experienced Simon Pettit – whom has been made Club Captain, Luke Girt from Sittingbourne, Ollie Gray & Nick Treadwell from Ramsgate; with more news to follow possibly over the weekend once confirmed about additional, exciting & proven Ryman league players.

Danny Ward said of their appointment, ‘it’s a great opportunity at the Club & one of our first objectives is to assemble a small squad that can be supplemented by emerging talent from our U18s & U21s’. Further he added… ‘on the playing front our first target is to exceed the previous best position of the Club since their promotion to the Ryman League some 7 years ago; after that let’s see what happens, although we naturally want to win every game’.

Training will commence on Saturday June 28th with players reporting to the ground at 10am; non registered players whom believe they have what it takes to join Whitstable Town FC, for whichever level, are invited to contact the club for Trials – in the first instance send your Contact Details & CV to marked ‘Trials’.

Jim Ward commented, ‘it’s a great club, me & Danny are relishing the start of the season which is only 11 weeks away (Ryman South starts on Saturday 9th August), we’ll be running with a tight squad but were very close to where we want to be. We are waiting for the nod from a couple of defenders right now but in the meantime if you think you’re up to the standard why not call us?’

Jim & Danny both stated, ‘we want to put smiles on the faces of all associated with the Club, we are here to enjoy it’.

Future announcements will include: More New Players Arriving, Players Retained from last season, Pre-Season Fixtures & a Meet the Manager / Chairman evening so watch the web for all updates.
