imagesJoint manager Jim Ward has said of the FA Cup ” It is always a dream to do well in this competition and my history feels like it nearly goes back to the beginning. Danny and I have had particular success in the Cup and particularly remember a run with Ramsgate to the 1st Round Proper where we lost to Nuneaton Borough. It was a great experience for the the players, board and supporters and it can be dream that can become reality for Whitstable. ”

He went on to look at Saturday’s game. ” Hythe will be tough opponents and with ex players such as Laurence Harvey, Craig Thompson  and James Morrish in the line up they will be looking to do well. This is a tough last few games as this is our third away fixture out of four. That is tough on the club and also on the supporters in terms of travel and cost. We will be looking to reward you with a win if possible.”

On the player front he said ” We have nearly got everyone back with only Ashley Ulph and Scott Heard not available for tomorrow. We do continue to look to strengthen the squad as these are still early days and while we are delighted with our start we need to push on. ”

“Finally” he added “let’s hope it is us in the draw at lunchtime on Monday”
