Whitstable won this midweek friendly at their SCEFL opponents Hollands and Blair, after scoring three goals in the last 25 minutes on a chilly, breezy evening. There were few openings for either side in the first half. Whitstable played their way into some promising positions on several occasions, but rarely threatened the home goal. They were without defenders Rob Gillman and John Walker and several other familiar faces, whilst former academy player Ryan Birch deputised for Dan Eason in goal. Hollands and Blair did have a couple of good opportunities and took the lead with a simple finish on 31 minutes, when Harry Dawes found the net after a pass by Justin Ascheri. Whitstable improved in the later stages and Miles Cornwell equalised on 67 minutes with a low shot. Tom Walmsley then clipped the bar before the returning Nick Treadwell put Whitstable ahead in the 74th minute, winning the ball and seeing his shot deflected over home goalkeeper Shannon Harris. Harris then made a good double save from Cornwell and Treadwell had another shot deflected for a corner, but Harry Brown curled a great free kick into the top corner in the 85th minute to complete the scoring.
