Whitstable Town FC were saddened to hear of the death of Dave Elliott, who passed away suddenly on 5 June, aged 75, and send our condolences to his family.
Dave was very well known in Kent football circles, initially as a player, who then went on to coach and manage a number of local teams. He also became a member of the management committee for the Canterbury and District League, but will be remembered especially for his in depth knowledge of Kent football and collection of statistics and memorabilia. In the late 1980s he was the manager of Whitstable Town reserves for three seasons and returned for a second spell with the club in the 1990s. In between, he was at Herne Bay as assistant to manager Trevor Gowan, another ex-Whitstable player, and together they won the Kent League title in 1992.
Dave is pictured here together with the Whitstable Town reserve team and his son Jon is on the right.
