Everyone at Whitstable Town FC would like to congratulate Sean Raggett after he scored the late winning goal for National League side Lincoln City in their historic FA Cup win at Premier League Burnley on Saturday to reach the quarter finals.
Sean played for Whitstable Town in the 2012-2013 season when the team was managed by Nicky Southall in the Ryman Division One South. He appeared in a number of games including the Boxing Day derby against Herne Bay when he crossed for Scott Heard to score a stoppage time equaliser in front of 433 fans at the Belmont and was named “Man Of The Match”.
His final game for Whitstable on 26 January 2013 resulted in a 4-0 home win against Worthing. Sean actually scored the fourth goal in the last minute, breaking clear and finding the corner of the net with a clinical finish. Two of our current players, Ollie Lee and James Morrish, also played in that game with the latter being the captain who also scored the second goal. Sean was recalled by parent club Dover Athletic a few days after the game.
We wish Sean and Lincoln all the best for their FA Cup quarter final tie against Sutton United or Arsenal.
