Maidstone United U21s 1 Whitstable Town U21s 0
Ryman Under 21 League (South)
Monday 1st December 2014
The Under 21s were narrowly beaten 1-0 at Maidstone on Monday evening. The goal came very early in an entertaining fixture. With the first real attack of the game in the fourth minute the ball was put over by Ross Bassan with Jack Jeffery slotting home. Town had their best chance on 16 minutes when Josh Algar put Matt Martin through. The Town striker was unlucky as his driven shot slammed into the upright. Maidstone also hit the woodwork as ex Whitstable manager Nicky Southall, playing as one of the overage players, fired a free kick from the edge onto the inside of the post and away. Maidstone United, who also played another former Whitstable player Alex Brown and first team manager Jay Saunders held on well for their three points.
