UNDER 21’S COMEBACK FOR THREE POINTS

Whitstable Town Under 21’s 2 Hastings United Under 21’s 1

Ryman Under 21 League (South)

Saturday 22nd March 2014

For the eleventh  game in a row the 21s fielded a different side with four players being given their Whitstable Town debuts due to players moving on, injury and first team call ups .

Having beaten Hastings United convincingly the last time, Town started slowly , taking too many touches.  The visitors scored first as the Town defence again made an error, letting the Hastings forward take the ball around more experienced players to take a 1-0 half time lead. For the very first time this season the half time talk in the changing room nearly lifted the roof off.

With three positional changes after five minutes the game changed and thanks to two Ollie Brown goals Whitstable took the lead. With two substitutes coming on, Town should really have won by more but, credit to the players for the second half performance  (it always appears to be our better half) A message from the management to the lads “don’t keep making it hard for yourselves”

Team:  Humphrey, Sayer,  Webb, Brown, Etherington, Guila, Cameron George, Healy, Munn, Huston, Curtis George Subs used Makura, Achong, Ashman.
