Ryman Under 21 League South

Thursday 17th December 2015

The Under 21’s lost a two goal lead to go down 3-2 to Merstham on Thursday evening. It all started so well for Whitstable as they took the lead on ten minutes Michael Hurcomb forced his way into the penalty area and fired home. He was to get a second on 26 minutes when he rounded the keeper and fired home. At this stage Whitstable well on top but as the half progressed Merstham slowly came into the game and pulled one back five minutes before half time as the ball was fired home at the near post.  Merstham were the better side after the break and were level on 65 minutes as they pounced on a muddle in the Town defence. Merstham sealed the points with five minutes to go as the ball was flicked in at the near post. It was in the end a fair result which was marred by a nasty shoulder injury for Lucien Ongui.
