Nicky Southall has acted swiftly in appointing an experienced & local coach – Steve Nolan, whom joins as Assistant Manager.
Until last week, Steve Nolan was First Team Coach under former Ramsgate Manager Tim Dixon, although he previously served the Oysters 3 yrs ago under then Whitstable Manager Peter Nott before departing after Nott in October 2011.
Southall commented, ‘Steve brings a wealth of experience & knowledge of football at this level and I’m sure will integrate well within the Club’s management structure; this is an exciting opportunity for both Steve & I as we look to guide Whitstable up the table & improve our current standings which clearly has to be our first & immediate priority….Steve watched the club recently & was clearly impressed with some of the raw & emerging young talent at the Club which highlights the success of the U21 Development Squad led by Bob Reardon’.
Chairman, Gary Johnson, welcomed Southall’s decisive & prompt action in complimenting & building a new football management team saying ‘Steve is well known here at the club & a very welcome addition, a safe & steady experienced pair of hands…..his appointment may also help to attract further talented individuals to the Clubs cause’.
Steve will join the Club in readiness for Saturdays fixture at home to fellow Kent club, Folkestone Invicta.
