Newly appointed Joint Managers and brothers,  Jim & Danny Ward, could not have been more delighted than the signing of several key players on Wednesday evening; to compliment the already signed Ian Pulman (from Ramsgate) is the equally prolific & experienced Ryan Golding whom joins from Sittingbourne despite being chased by several other clubs!

Danny Ward was quick to comment ‘it’s coming together, both Jim and me are really excited about the players joining the Club which are a mixture of experience & youth; we hope the fans are equally as excited as us?

Since joining the Oysters three weeks ago today the Ward’s phones haven’t stopped ringing with various players expressing their interest in joining the Whitstable revolution.

Jim Ward was keen to add ‘don’t believe everything you read on other Clubs’ Forums or websites, it’s not all down to money, players want to come & play for us’ as illustrated by the signing of Golding!

The Wards targeted only a few of last year’s WTFC First Team: Luke Watkins, Scott Heard & Jake Mackenzie whom have all signed, whilst the much fancied Joe Kane has sadly decided to rejoin the SCEFL club from whom he came; fringe squad player & U21s leading scorer Joe Lester has also put pen to paper as have the majority of the eligible & successful U21s from last term.

Danny added that he’s still hopeful that another couple of fans favorites, from last year, will rejoin the squad so watch out for confirmation on this website in due course.

Also joining the Club & signed last night are the highly rated Connor Heffernan (from Ramsgate) along with his brother an exciting 17yr old Cameron; with Kane Rowland whom is thought to be one of the best young prospects within Kent today (also from Ramsgate). Ashley ‘Butch’ Ulph returns to the Club (from Sittingbourne) whom he originally joined under then Manager Peter Nott.

They join the already confirmed: Simon Pettit, Nick Treadwell, Oliver Gray, Luke Girt & Ian Pulman.

Whilst looking to work with a relatively small squad Jim commented ‘the U21s will continue to play a big part & be given every opportunity to impress’.

The Wards now seek to finalise their Management Team with the appointment of both U21 & U18 Managers together with Physio cover – if you think you have what it takes & are interested please contact secretary@whitstabletownfc.co.uk  with your details & qualifications in the first instance.

Training starts on Saturday June 28th at 10am for existing players & invited Trialist’s – contact the Club for more info.

Whilst it looks like exciting times ahead, the duos first objective is to finish higher than the Club have previously done since joining the Ryman League some 6 or 7 yrs ago.

Both Jim & Danny are looking forward to Monday’s Meet the Manager (June 9th  8pm in the Clubhouse); they commented ‘Whitstable have fantastic support especially for a Club that have struggled in recent seasons…..were excited & we hope you will be too?’
