RESERVES WIN AGAIN

Whitstable Town Reserves 4 Phoenix Sports Reserves 1

Saturday 22nd September 2012

Town knew that the game on Saturday against last year’s second division champions would be a hard match. Phoenix have produced some good results this season and would be a tough test.

This was to prove true as with the game only 4 minutes old the visitors went one up with a great strike into the top corner. Town then put constant pressure on the Phoenix goal but could not find the equaliser with the Town keeper a virtual spectator.

The second half was even more one sided as after five minutes new signing Marques scored the equaliser (his third goal for the Town). A tactical substitution took place, and this led to another goal for the home side. The game ended well as both centre backs scored, one a very good overhead kick.

At the final whistle game a very positive comment from one of the parents of the opposing side as he said the game was very enjoyable, with some very good football from our young team….  a nice comment!
