Whitstable Town moved six points clear of the Ryman Division One South relegation zone after overcoming fellow strugllers Horsham YMCA at The Belmont.
Manager Marc Seager kept Sam Denly at Centre Half after his impressive showing at Folkestone Invicta diring the midweek friendly. Midfielder Clint Gooding started his first game since September after injury as Steven Lloyd and Jake Gess were relegated to the bench.

It took The Reds just eight minutes to break the deadlock when after a superb run into the penalty area by David Cory saw him put the ball across for strike partner Ian Pulman who netted from close range.

As the half wore on Town looked very impressive with Marcos Perona and Gooding looking assured in midfield. Wide men Danny Tipple who was pushed on from Left Back and Tommy Martin were also looking dangerous with some impressive crosses.

The lead was extended on 25 minutes when Pulman scored his second of the game when he cleverly shot first time after the ball had fallen to him from a defensive clearance.

Horsham YMCA did have their chances during the first half when they struck the post while Kevin Fewell was called into action on two occasions with superb saves from the visiting attack.

A scrappy second half saw neither team really create much although Fewell was equal to anything the visitors threw at him. Cory and Pulman continued to work hard up front with the two goal man unlucky not to complete his hat-trick when blazed over.

With Denly excelling at Centre Half alongside Liam Quinn last years Kent League Championship managed to keep a clean sheet for the first time since their Kent Senior Cup win at Sittingbourne on 23rd October.
