Picture: Clint Gooding; back from long term injury: On a chilly evening Marc Seager took his troops to play Ryman Premier Division side Folkestone Invicta in a friendly which gave both sides the chance to give fringe and reserve team players a run out.
The Oystermen made numerous changes with Reserve team keeper Wayne Budge donning the gloves while Sam Denly lined up in a Central Defenders role. In midfield long term injury victim Clint Gooding lined up alongside recent signings Nick Bagley and Danny Wisker while Dan Lawrence started up front.

On a bumpy pitch both sides put their all into the early exchanges with Gooding looking assured while Jake Gess put himself about which after arguing a decision earnt a booking.

It was Gess who opened the scoring when he took a great cross field ball from 'skipper for the night Gary Sayer' in his stride and drilled a right footed shot straight through the keppers body to give The Reds a 1-0 lead. He later hobbled off to be replaced by Tom Parker

Young Budge looked confident in everything he did and turned one close range shot behind for a corner.

In the second half Town introduced Marcos Perona, Tommy Martin and Ian Pulman to the fray.

It was Pulman who extended the lead when he finished neatly after some good play in midfield by the lively Danny Tipple whose whipped in cross was neatly converted by Pullman less than five minutes after he took to the field.

Late on, the home side netted a consolation goal when Parker failed to clear his lines and this was to be the last real action of the game . A useful workout for both sides for their respective games on Saturday.
