Whitstable Town eased their relegation worries wih a 4-2 win over Corinthian Casuals at Belmont Road on Saturday.

Marc Seager introduced new signing David Cory to play alongside Ian Pulman in attack while Tommy Martin wsa brought back in to replace the injured Sam Denly in midfield.

On a pitch that cut up from the start after recent heavy rain the home side played some of their best football for a few weeks with Marcos Perona and Martin both running the centre of midfield. In attack Cory and Pulman were both looking sharp.

It was Pulman who opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 20 minutes when afdter being brought down by the visiting keeper he duly got up and buried the spot kick.

Town extended their lead on 33 minutes when after some good approach play Martin threaded the ball through to Cory who beat the keeper for a debut goal.

On the stroke of half time the visitors pulled a goal back when Perona was penalised for handball in the area and Dale Hennessey converted the spot kick.

An entertaining game continued in the second half and Town extended their lead midway through the half when Pulman scored his second of the game to extend the Reds lead to 3-1.

To Corinthian Casuals credit they never gave up and were rewarded with ten minutes left when after a challenge in the penalty area; Hennessey once again beat Fewell to make the scoreline 3-2.

Two minutes later however Jake Gess finally secured the points for Whitstable when he drilled the ball into the left corner of the net to earn Whitstable's sixth Ryman Division One South victory of the season.
