Mark Wyver reports: Whitstable Town slumped to their third Ryman Division One South defeat after two second half goals saw visiting Sittingbourne win 2-0 at Belmont Road.
In front of 311 supporters this was a rather lack lustre derby game with neither Kevin Fewell in the home goal or his opposite number Danny Eason never being tested in the first half. The main talking point was when home defender Steven Lloyd went up for a challenge with Bradley Spice which ended with the Bourne striker being replaced due to a head injury. The best chance of the half came when Paul Ainsworth had a shot blocked on the line for the visitors while Town had a free kick easily saved by Eason. Sittingbourne began to get on top at the beginning of the second half although Town's new striker Ian Pulman had a shot well saved by Eason after being sent through by Marcos Perona. The breakthrough finally arrived when Keiron Marsh made the most of a Sabur Trebelsi cross to shoot past Fewell. The home keeper the saved from Trabelsi and Hicham Akhazzan also fired over. Sittingbourne made the game safe when from a free kick on the edge of the area Dave Milton curled the ball superbly round the wall and into the back of the net. Another defeat for Marc Seager's men before a daunting trip to leaders Dover on Saturday. WHITSTABLE TOWN 1. Fewell 2. Sayer 3. Tipple (Lawrence) 4. Adcock 5. Lloyd 6. Denly 7. Martin 8. Perona 9.
