Marc Seager; still not able to pick best side through injuries and suspensions is looking forward to the weekend’s visit of the Metropolitan Police who Town lost 2-1 to early on in their Ryman season.

“I know my best eleven out of the players I have at the club; but due to the injury list that at times left me with just two central defenders to pick from out of five and at times one striker, its not been possible to field the side I would like.  Players having to play out of position just to field a side; the only player who has consistently been available is my keeper; Kevin Fewell. Last season, which is now history we were able to keep a settled side, certainly defensively we were unchanged most of the season and it showed in the results.”

Marc was asked if he was enjoying the challenge of life in the Ryman South:

“You bet I am, I said it would take a while for the lads to adjust to the different pace of the Ryman and I really feel we are getting there now. I am on record as saying that the higher up the football pyramid you go the more mistakes get punished, non more so than if you give the ball away in your own half which cost us points early in the season. We have played some of our best football the last three or four games without getting the reward, we picked up a gear against Chatham in our last game and the three goals for and a clean sheet tell their own story.  More of the same this weekend and then carry it on into the New Year will do for a start, I feel this weekend against Met Police will be a good benchmark. I thought that when we played them second game of the season; it looked like a Kent League side against a Ryman in a cup match. I hope this week it will be a game between two Ryman sides”
