The Second Round of the Kent Senior Trophy, on Saturday, provided eight matches of interest which included the top game between Erith Town and Beckenham Town at the Erith Sports Stadium. The 'Dockers', who have been playing well this term, were undone against the League leaders when they were beaten by the odd goal in three.

The 'Dockers', who have been playing well this term, were undone against the League leaders when they were beaten by the odd goal in three. Billy Edwards opened for the home in the first period which was cancelled out just after the break when Jason Thomson scored. With extra time looming, Joe Healey was on target for the 'Becks' with eight minutes remaining which sets up a Quarter Final meeting with Faversham Town in the new year. The 'Lilywhites', who were at home to Croydon, were grateful to Tom Hickman's first half strike which saw them progress, their first win since the end of September.

Thamesmead Town, who are second in the League, won one nil at North Dane Way, the home of Lordswood, when James Brown netted the only goal of the game right on half time. In the next round, Thamesmead will visit Herne Bay who had a resounding five nil home win against Tunbridge Wells. Scoring for the 'Bay' were Simon Brown, a Martin Chandler penalty, Ben Brown, Rhys Lawson and Christian Miles. Greenwich Borough also netted five as they met Slade Green, who responded with two, at the Small Glen. Harbingi Grant was on target with the first for the visitors before Rafael Akala levelled a minute later, Sam May then put the home side in front before the half time whistle. In the second period, Badur Mohammed equalised and, then, further goals came from Grant, Baines and Mohammed. In the Quarter Finals, Greenwich will meet Stansfield (O&B), from the Kent County League, who defeated last years Finalists, Bearsted, by six goals to four at Honey Lane. A late goal from Mark Pollard of Deal Town saw his side through, by the odd goal in five, as they beat VCD Athletic at Oakwood. Earlier, the 'Cinque Port' club had opened up a two nil lead with a brace of penalties from Dave Bathgate before the home side responded through Mark Greatorex and an Ashley Probetts spot kick. Deal's reward is a visit to Sevenoaks Town, in January, who beat Milton Athletic by the odd goal in three at Greatness Park. Tom Godbold was on target for the visitors before the home side replied with goals from Billy Manners and Perry Spackman.
