Time for Town to cut out the mistakes |
|
|
|
“We keep shooting ourselves in
the foot,” said Whitstable manager Marc Seager after his injury-ravaged side
went down 4-2 to Whyteleafe after after
they twice had chance’s of getting back into the game.
“Three of the goals were great strikes, but
we gave the ball away cheaply and each time we deservedly were punished for
those mistakes. At two nil down we were under the cosh, we get a goal back and
then let them back in the game again, we did the same when we got back to three
two and they were on the back foot, and again we lost our shape.
Yes we are suffering
with a number of players out injured, but the players in the side today are
good enough to get results at this level. I am in danger of repeating my self
but in the Ryman League if you slip up you will get punished, it’s that simple.
Anyone at the game today could see how quite we were, I am looking for a leader on the pitch, anyone can we are too quite I told the players 'you all have enough to
say before the game, then again in the bar'. Save some of that for the ninety minutes of football and help
each other, I am looking for more than the odd ‘come on lads’ I want more constructive talking so that the lads help
each other out when they look as if they are in trouble.
We have two home games
in five days to put this behind us, we need to keep a couple of clean sheets
and four or six points to put a bit more space between us and the clubs below.
We missed our chance today, but we will be ready come seven forty five on
Tuesday and again next Saturday, if we cut out the mistakes we’ll be all right.
