Two goals from Jon Neal were just reward for a hard
working performance by Marc Seager’s side; reshaped by the departure and
unavailability of five players, With Steve Marshall on honeymoon, Andy
Constable and Stuart King's departure coupled with injuries to Michael Adcock
and suspension to Sam Denley Seager knew he was in for a tough weekend.
“It’s
been the most testing week of my career as a manager so far, what with the lads
leaving others
unavailable and new lads coming into the suide it was a great
test of character for the lads today and they came through with flying
colours. The arrival of John Akinde and
Danny Stubbs was a real boost and you can see today the difference they made,
in the first half in particular big Jon was unplayable. We were strong up front and we
defended in numbers, in all honesty we were competitive in every position. I am delighted to
get a result against a side of the pedigree of Leatherhead and thrilled for the
lads after a testing week.”
