Folkestone Invicta 3 Whitstable Town 4: Watched by first team
manager Marc Seager WTFC reserves overcame Folkestone four goals to three courtesy
of two own goals and strikes from Bertie Braidwood and Alex Hossick.
“I was
pleased that seven of the lads who need a run out got a game tonight,” Seager
said after the game “with no game on Saturday it was too long a gap especially
for players like Alex and Gary Sayer on their way back from injury. I know Ian
(Hossick, the reserves manager) will be delighted to get another win and this
keeps them at the top of the table, albeit having played more games. It’s the hardest
job in the world as a reserve team manager taking player from the first team at
the drop of a hat but Ian’s knows the score and all the players who turn out
for him get treated right so I know they are not going to be messed about. If I
ask him to let so and so player have 90 minutes, that what he gets and Ian
keeps me up to speed on their progress.”
