Whitstable take point off Dover… PDF Print E-mail
Picture Marc Seager: Andy Hessenthaler’s  Dover, the Man Utd of the Ryman Leagues were held to a 2-2 draw by Whitstable at the Belmont in front off a crowd 1002 sun baked supporters.

With Whitstable enjoying the better of the first half their more illustrious opponents were pinned back into their own half for long periods. Whitstable’s manager Marc Seager saying he was delighted and proud of his young side. “Dover are a massive club at this level and for us to be the first side to take points off them this season is a massive boost for the club, the players and the supporters. It shows just how far we have come as a side that we have matched the side everyone is tipping as run away certainties for the title. Yes they can say they had injuries, but then so did we, I had players missing and two of my players  today passed fitness test just before the game and I will not accept injuries as an excuse. We matched them today, we were in front twice and they will be leaving the Belmont knowing they were in a game.”
