Picture: Sam Denley: Whitstable 2 v Eastbourne Town 2: Whitstable went 1-0 up against fellow new boys Eastbourne Town in their first Ryman League game.

Town went ahead after Marcos Perona fired in the ‘Reds’ first ever Ryman League goal in the 10th minute with a neatly taken free kick.
They had chances to extend their lead before the visitors equalised on the stroke of half time. Eastbourne went further ahead with a soft penalty, the reds scoring the equalizer through Sam Denley in the 95th minute after they laid siege to the visitors gaol for the last ten minutes of the game to share the points.
