The sun shone on the Belmont faithful as Margate delivered a master class performance beating Whitstable 4-0 in the last pre-season match before Town taste life in the Ryman League.
 Whitstable did however have a good opening spell hitting the woodwork twice in quick succession.
Whitstable manager Marc Seager remarked after the game,” if we had scored then I am sure you would have seen a completely different game.” As it was Town restricted the visitors to the one goal at half time, Margate stepping up a gear with three second half goals, albeit two of them soft penalties.
