WTFC 3 v Thamesmead Town 2 PDF Print E-mail
Kent League Challenge Shield: Played in glorious August sunshine, it was the visitors who took the lead  after 15 minutes play during which both sides had chances.

Riki Cable twisted and turned Whitstable’s defence before firing across the diving Kevin Fewell.
Whitstable restored the balance via a Stuart King free kick after the young striker was un-ended just outside the area. Town then upped the pace and scored two in quick succession the first a headed own goal via a Marcus Perona cross. The third was a debut goal for new signing Sam Denley who headed in at the fare post.

Whitstable controlled the game the first twenty minutes of the second half before Thamesmead’s Cable scored his second, the visitors coming onto the game more as the clock ticked down, however both sides had chances to score before the ref signalled fulltime and Marc Seager was picking up another trophy for the club, his third in the 2006/07 season, his forth honour if you count promotion as well.
