A second half comeback at home to Faversham Town saw Whitstablke Town win their first Pre Season friendly at the 5th attempt. An early effort from Steve Marshall, which went wide of Rob Lindley's goal was the first attempt on goal.

However after fiften minutes another error from young keeper Declan McVicker saw visiting striker Sean Hetterley fire into an empty net after the ball had been spilled.McVicker made amends by making a superb stop from Ian Pulman just two minutes later. Faversham continued to run the show with Hetterley and Pullman looking lively.

On 25 minutes former Whitstable player Steve Aslett crossed into the middle for Graham Taylor to head unchallenged into the net. With this scoreline waking the Reds up it was left midfielder Tom Parker who pulled a goal back on 37 minutes when he strode forward unopposed a hit a right foot shot past the desparing dive of Lindley.

Almost from the kick off the visitors restored their two-goal lead when Taylor hit a superb shot, which gave McVicker no chance.

The second half was only ten minutes old when Marshall reduced the arrears with an effort, which beat Lindley into his bottom right hand side. The equaliser was fashioned on the hour mark when Micky Lane on one of his trademark runs found Jon Neal who superbly struck the ball into the net for his first goal in Whitstable colours.

The winning goal came from arguably the best talent on the pitch. Young Stuart King who had come on as a substitute beat a defender in the box and in one swoop fired past Lindley to give Town a confidence boosting 4-3 win.
