“Just shows the value of these pre-season games” Whitstable manager Marc Seager said after his side let slip a 2-0 lead after going in at the interval 1-0 ahead.
I can’t remember City having a shot in the first half and for the first twenty minutes we kept the ball which was as I expected. But we played a different formation and a completely different eleven in the second half and they gave it real go and deserved to come out on top after their second half performance. Like ourselves; their real test will come when their league games start, ours will be the first game in the Ryman League on the 18th August and that’s my focus now. We face Ramsgate on Tuesday, then host Ebsfleet on Thursday, and I will be expecting more from my players.” Marc Seager:
