“New season, new League, it can’t get any better than that,” said WTFC manager Marc Seager; who said he was delighted with his squad: “I heard Jim Ward saying on local radio the other day that he felt he a had a headache as his problem was picking a side from the squad he has. After the signing I have made in the last couple of weeks, plus the already strong squad who won the Kent League  last year,

"I now know how he feels. If Jim says he has a headache; then I think I must have a migraine coming on so I better ask Jim what he takes to ease it.

“Seriously though; what a great young side we have at Whitstable, I have said before that I am building for the future, which is why the average age of my side is in the very early twenties. And remember; theses lads all know what it takes to win a League Tile. Some of them are only 18 or 19 yet they know what concentration levels are need to go 23 games unbeaten and keep seven clean sheets on the bounce in a season. What I’m saying is that we have more than enough quality in the side to be credit to the Ryman League, we are not looking to just be make weights, but to aim to finish as high in the table as we can.

“We know it’s not going to be easy, and there are certainly no easy games in the Ryman, any team can beat anyone on their day, so it’s up to us to treat every side with respect, but go out and play to win every game… Marc Seager
