Canterbury City are coming to the Belmont this Saturday to play their first game as a senior side since their untimely demise, with new chairman Phil Knight the driving force behind the club he said on CCFC website... "On Saturday afternoon we visit the Belmont for our eagerly awaited pre-season friendly against Mark Seager’s Kent League Champions.
The fixture is a real measure of the progress we have made off the field of play over the last twelve months and the performance on the pitch should be a useful yardstick for the coming season. I hope we will take some vocal support over with us on Saturday and perhaps even out sing the famous ‘Oysterboys’."
The local press are predicting a crowd between 200 and 400 as the interest surrounding both newly promoted Whitstable and their visitors Canterbury City is sure to generate local interest. At halftime there will be a demonstration by Whitstable Gymnastic Club who will be using the pitch to showcase their skills.
