Picture: Marc Seager (right) with coach Simon Halsey: In the FA Cup Whitstable play either Thamesmead Town or Egham Town away on Sat 1st of Sept. Thamesmead who Whitstable play in the Charity Shield need to overcome Egham to then host Whitstable at ‘The Mead’ in the next round of the FA Cup. Whitstable manager Marc Seager saying, “How ironic that The FA Cup has possibly thrown us and Thamesmead together again

"after we played them in the cup the last game of last season. Then we face each other again in the first competitive match as a Ryman League club on Saturday the 4th of August in the Charity Shield. Only to possibly playing them in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup on the 1st of September if they can overcome Egham Town. Both clubs, Thamesmead and ourselves get on well and it will be a very interesting start for both of us to our new season.” Seager added: “ We then play Cray Wanders in The FA Trophy at Home on the 6th of October which will be another exciting game for us at The Belmont. It’s some time since Whitstable played Cray Wanderers in a competitive fixture so everyone at the club will be looking forward to this game.”

Coach Simon Halsey who took over as manager of the Green Lion Pub in Strood last weekend added: “A lot of the lads from Thamesmead and VCD were at my first night at The Green Lion on Saturday as were most of the Whitstable lads. Like them; all of us at Whitstable are looking forward to the new season, our pre-season training starts on Saturday and to be honest I can’t wait to get a taste of life in the Ryman League.”
