All at Whitstable Towb FC wish Alan a speedy recovery...Maidstone United’s joint-manager Alan Walker has suffered a freak injury whilst on a training course in Belfast. Walker has been left partially paralysed after freak injury when he went to head the ball whilst attending an Irish FA A Licence coaches course as an observer.

Walker, who along with Lloyd Hume has clinched back-to-back titles for the Stones as they’ve climbed from Kent League to Ryman Premier League in the space of two years, explained to www.maidstoneunited.co.uk earlier today what happened. He said: “Basically I went to head the ball in the training session and was knocked unconscious.

“I came round in the ambulance where I found myself paralysed and the doctors have so far told me that I suffered damage to my spinal cord as a result of one of my vertebrate coming into contact with the nerve. “I have gradually got some feeling back but I need to rest until next week before they can operate on me on Tuesday to look at the extent of the damage.”
