| Whitstable coach still upbeat despite Town taking title chase to the wire: |

“Yes
VCD spoilt the party today,” said Whitstable's coach Simon Halsey; “we went to sleep directly
after taking the lead after Steve Marshall scored, it’s the sort of situation
we talk to the lads about, stay focused and keep your discipline but we never
and we paid the price. It would have been fantastic to win the league today in
front a crowd of 450 who were mainly our own Whitstable Town supporters.
"Steve
(Marshall) scored the first then we had a perfectly good goal ruled out for
offside but the ball was played towards the goal by one of the opposition, also
they tell me the headed Tommy Martin goal in the first half was not offside
either but the ref saw it different. But fair play to VCD they won the game
fair and square and we have no complaints, just disappointed that could not wrap
it up today. But we are confident that we can get the four points needed from
our remaining two matches to see us over the finishing line. We go to Sevenoaks on Tuesday evening looking
to come away with all three points. Then lets see what happens when VCD play on
the Wednesday then we have Thamesmead a week today, (Saturday) when we will be looking
to finish on a high, we are not finished yet, not by a long way.”
