Thamesmead went back into second place in the Kent
League after a 3-1 win over VCD. Two goals from Pedro Knight and a last minute
goal from Sam Thomas gave them the three points with Richard Sinden scoring for
Martin Ford's side. Greenwich Borough won 2-1 at Croydon with Meshach Nugent and
Harbingi Grant while Billy Warner netted a consolation for the home side.
Beckenham took the lead through Wade Falana only for Hythe to hit back to win
2-1 thanks to goals from Barry Crawford and Jason Brazier. Erith & Belvedere
won 2-1 at Lordswood with Nick Smith against his former club and Steve White
scoring while Ricky Freeman scored for the home side. Deal had John Utterson and
Mark Pollard on the scoresheet in their 2-1 win at Herne Bay who replied through
Aaron Firth. Goals from Aaron Smith and Tony Atkins saw Sevenoaks beat Faversham
2-0. while Dave Hassett and Joe Fuller scored for Tunbridge Wells in their 2-1
win over Slade Green who replied through Frank Sawyer. The days biggest winners
were Erith who beat a poor Sporting Bengal side 7-1. Player/Manager Mark
Tompkins hit a hat-trick with Scott Edwards(2), Sebastien Schoburgh and Ashley
Douglas completing the scoring.

Lowly Tamworth put a dent into Gravesend &
Northfleet's Nationwide Conference Play Off hopes after they defeated the Kent
side 2-1. Prolific striker Charlie MacDonald scored a consolation goal for the
Fleet in the 81st minute.Two games in three days ended in two Conference
South defeats for Welling as on Tuesday they went down 2-1 at Braintree Town and
then in their home game played at Gravesend & Northfleet's Stonebridge Road
ground they were beaten 2-1 by Thurrock.
The two Thanet clubs were in Ryman Premier Division
action and both earned 1-1 draws. Jimmy Ward's Ramsgate side held high flying
Chelmsford City to a 1-1 draw at Southwood. Leading scorer Shaun Welford had
given the Rams the lead. Margate took the lead through Danny Hockton at home to
Horsham only for the Sussex side to snatch a 1-1 draw with an 84th minute
equalizer.
A shock result ocured in the Ryman Division One
Kent derby as relegation threatened Chatham won 2-1 at league leaders Maidstone.
Gavin Schulz on loan from Ramsgate gave the Medway side the lead only for Simon
Austin to bring parity for the Stones. The young Chats side were rewarded
however with an 82nd minute winner from Rob Denness. Cray were held to a 2-2
draw by Godalming Town at Hayes Lane. On target for the Wands were Lewis Wood
and Ross Lover. Ashford went down to a 2-1 defeat at Horsham YMCA with George
Fenwick netting for the Kent strugglers.
Kent League leaders Whitstable were held to a 1-1
draw at Hythe despite going ahead through Andy Constable. The hosts who had
Barry Crawford and Aiden Pursglove sent off equalized courtesy of a Roy Godden
penalty. VCD still have an interest in the Championship race as their 8-1
drubbing of Sporting Bengal proved. Much travelled striker Leroy Huggins hit a
hat-trick and there were also goals for Mark Greatorex, Juan Ramirez, Danny
Penny, Lee Coburn and Shane Baptiste who put through his own net. Greenwich
Borough took a sixth minute lead through Hussain Budak only for Adam Morrish to
earn Slade Green a 1-1 draw. A first half goal from Aaron Smith gave Sevenoaks a
1-0 win over Erith at Greatness Park. An on form Erith & Belvedere had
Adrian Deane, Steve White and Micky Collins on the scoresheet in their 3-1 win
at Tunbridge Wells who replied through Joe Fuller.
