Thamesmead Town are through to the Kent Football League Premier Division Cup Final as they produced a dramatic late revival to defeat Herne Bay in their Semi Final Second Leg at Winch's Field on Tuesday evening. With 'Bay' leading two nil from the First Leg, Thamesmead reduced the arrears when Dean Burns netted after just three minutes which lifted the visitors. In the second period, the tie was in the home sides favour until, three minutes from time, Ricki Cable slotted home a penalty - the score was now level with extra time beckoning. In the final minute, Sam Thomas became 'Meads' hero when he netted their third and a meeting with Whitstable Town in the Final on Saturday May 5th. In the Premier Division, Whitstable Town extended their lead at the top to six points as they drew one apiece with Hythe Town at Reachfields in match that saw three sent off and a last minute penalty. The 'Oystermen' scored right on half time through Andy Constable before Jason Brazier netted the late spot kick. Earlier, Hythe had seen Aiden Purseglove and Barry Crawford dismissed whilst Whitstable lost Jimmy Strouts. Greenwich Borough, who beat Whitstable on Saturday, were held to a 1-1 draw at Harrow Meadow by lowly Slade Green. Hussain Budak scored 'Borough' before Adam Morrish equalised for the visitors late in the second period. Sevenoaks Town beat Erith Town thanks Aaron Smith's first half strike and, in Division Two, Thamesmead Town have returned to the top with a three nil home win against Erith Town.
