Lucky Whitstable! No, its inner strength says Seager PDF Print E-mail
VIDEO: Marc Seager speaking after the 1-1 draw away against Croydon who needed to win to gain ground on league leaders Whitstable. Seager saying his young side have a toughness about them and a never say die attitude that has so far this season seen them as one of the very few side in senior football in the whole of England unbeaten at this late stage of the season. “It does not matter if we score in the 1st minute or the 91st minute, we are a side that can grind out a result even when we are not playing particularly well. Other teams know this, they know we always have something left in the tank and it means they can never relax right up until the final whistle. We went two nil down against Croydon in the cup, came back to draw, went 3-1 down to Deal in the cup and came back to win; we have done that time and time again this season. Some manager are saying we are riding our luck, I would say that in life you make your own luck and reason we are unbeaten is not luck, you can’t be lucky for 23 league games and not loose. That’s a mental strength, we know that every side we play wants to be the first to beat us but we have an inner belief that keeps the players going right until the ref blows the whistle to signal the end of the game.”
