Cancelled game gives Seager the chance to light the ‘Wick’

Never one to miss an opportunity Whitstable manager was quick to change direction as he prepared to set off for Hythe's cancelled game to watch West Wickham  who Whitstable play in the Kent Senior Trophy semi final in three weeks time. " I was bitterly disappointed that our game at Hythe on Saturday was lost to bad weather, especially as all the other sides around us were not playing either so there was a chance for us to maybe have extended our lead at the top. I was also disappointed because of the fact that not only myself but all the players were so looking forward to the game against a very good side in Hythe Town and as you all know, players love being part of the big games and Saturday's game was definitely one of those games. One plus for me to come out of Saturday's cancellation was that it allowed me to go and watch our forthcoming Kent Senior Trophy semi final opponents West Wickham who's game beat the weather and I saw them come from behind to win their quarter final match against Civil Service. I saw enough on the day to tell me that we will need to be right on top of our game if we are to book a place in the final because if we're not then we might just join Herne Bay and Hythe Town on our opponents list of teams defeated, but I know the players will be right up for it on the day as they have been so far this season especially after the experience of suffering defeat in last season's semi final. I know our opponent's will raise their game on the day and will come to the Belmont hoping to spring another shock but we ourselves are a good side and will treat our opponents with the utmost respect that they deserve, but if I'm totally honest I fully expect us to put in a professional performance that will see us be too strong for our opponents on the day." Seager added: " The players will train hard Wednesday night after their weekend off; getting back to the job in hand and prepare well for this coming Saturday's home league fixture against Tunbridge Wells as we again try to keep our domestic unbeaten record intact.  However I know our opponents will be doing their best to try and be the 1st team to beat us domestically and I am fully aware that we are in for another tough encounter especially if our previous two matches against our opponents are anything to go by. Although we came out on top on both of those occasions they pushed us all the way and I don't expect Saturday's game to be any different" WTFC(c)
