Whitstable replied to Sporting early breakaway goal with a neatly taken free kick by Tommy Martin, the keeper palming the ball into his net under pressure from Andy Constable. Stuart Kng scored three well taken goals before Jake Gess netted in the closing minutes picking up the rebound after a King free kick was only parried by the keeper: Whitstable not at their best but still too much for the lively Sporting who did their best to make game of it
