Kent Football with Mark Wyver: Tonbridge earned three points when a Ray Powell goal saw them win their Ryman Premier Division fixture 1-0 at East Thurrock United. The Kent derby between Sittingbourne and Ashford finished in a 0-0 draw at Bourne Park in the Ryman First Division. Chatham continue to struggle after they were beaten 2-0 at Whyteleafe. Cray moved through to the next round of the Westview League Cup as they won 2-1 at Premier Division side Boreham Wood. Goals from Barry Moore and Donal O'Sullivan saw Bromley defeat Metropolitan Police 2-1 in the London Senior Cup at Hayes Lane. Whitstable moved a point clear at the top of the Kent League after drawing 2-2 at Greenwich Borough. Meshach Nugent and Stuart King scored twice for either side. Herne Bay defeated Hythe 3-1 at Winchs Field with Aaron Firth(2) and Rhys Lawson scoring for the home side while Jason Brazier netted a penalty for the visitors. Sevenoaks will play Bearsted or Slade Green in the semi final of the Plaaya Kent Senior Trophy after they defeated Beckenham 4-3 on penalties. The two sides had drawn 1-1 aet with Frankie Whitehead and Jones Awuah the respective scorers. VCD failed to make the second stage of the Kent League Cup after they were held to a 0-0 draw at Slade Green. A result which sees Herne Bay and Hythe qualify from Group A.
