Whitstable Town FC

The deadlock was broken five minutes before half time when along clearance from home Keeper Michael Holder fell to Nugent who beat Fewell to put the home side 1-0 up at the interval. With the wind at their backs the promotion chasing Town side began to get on top, and were awarded a penalty after 53 minutes when a Boro' defender upended Steve Marshall and from the resulting penalty young striker Stuart King beat Holder from the spot. The midfield pairing of Jimmy Strouts and Alex Hossick continued to work hard and with Gess and Tommy Martin starting to run the game it was King again who put the Oystermen in front. From a 76th minute corner King curled the ball in and with the help of a defender the ball nestled in the bottom corner of Holder's net.
Borough then came back into the game and with the Town defence seeming like they were going to hold out Dan Tanner was penalised for handball in the 84th minute and the second penalty of the game was awarded. Up stepped Nugent who despite Fewell diving the right way the home side snatched a 2-2 draw. With the weather conditions as they were this was a good advert for Kent League football and the point for Town takes them a point clear at the top of the table.
