The persistent rain on Friday night and Saturday morning accounted for three top matches in the Kent Football League Premier Division which included the matches at VCD Athletic, Faversham Town and at Hythe Town. The games that survived saw Croydon move into fourth place and extend their unbeaten record to ten League outings as they beat Herne Bay at Winch's Field by the odd goal in three. Neil John put the visitors in front with the day's fastest goal, after seven minutes, before Steven Lloyd levelled right on half time for 'Bay'. Ray Freeman then netted the winner for the South East London side five minutes into the restart. Erith & Belvedere secured their third consecutive League win as they defeated Slade Green at the Glen by four goals to nil. On target for the 'Deres' were Lee Morgan, in the first half, Steve White, Glen McTaggart and Darryl Wilson. Both Lordswood and Deal Town completed away wins against Sporting Bengal Utd and Erith Town, respectively, to edge up the table. The 'Lords' went ninth in the table with a three nil win at the Mile End Stadium with a brace from Mike McKenna and a solitary strike from Stuart Harrison. At the Erith Sports Stadium, Deal were one nil down when Mark Tompkins netted for the home side but the 'Cinque Port' side then went three one up with a Mark Pollard brace and an Aaron Robinson strike. Tompkins netted a second for the home side but it was not enough. At the foot of the table there is now a six point gap between the bottom four sides and the rest of the League.
