Ten men Town grab points   Whitstable Town welcomed Erith Town to The Belmont on Saturday for their first League game since their 3-3 draw at Beckenham Town on 21st October.  http://www.theimagefile.com/web/perlaleng (match pictures)
Showing seven changes from the starting eleven from the previous week Whitstable showed their strength in depth.

The home side attacked from the start with Tommy Martin and Marcos Perona both looking impressive in their midfield roles.Visiting keeper Nick Wilson kept his side in the game with a couple of good saves from corners which the Erith defence struggled to deal with.
The main talking point was about to come as Alex Hossick went in to what looked like a 50/50 challenge with an Erith player. However the referee Mr Baker deemed it a studs up challenge and showed Hossick a straight red card much to the fury of the Town management on the bench. The injured player was stretchered off and taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.
Up against ten men the Reds were now up against it but showed their metal and took the lead after 36 minutes when veteran striker Steve Marshall placed a header beyond Wilson to give the home side the lead.In an identical chance Marshall saw another header well saved by the visiting keeper.
The second half was spoilt by an over fussy offical who seemed to stop the game at every opportunity. The visitors always looked dangerous through Richard Usherwood and Wayne Grizzle although home keeper Kevin Fewell was never seriously threatened.Marc Seager brought on Andy Constable and he soon became involved with the play testing Wilson in the Erith goal on a couple of occasions. With the clock running down the 10 men Reds held on for a priceless three points which keeps them in the hunt for that sought after top position in the Kent League.
