WHITSTABLE BACK ON TOP | A nine goal thriller was seen at the Belmont on Tuesday as Whitstable Town regained the leadership of the Premier Division with a 5-4 win against Deal Town which saw eight goals coming in the last half an hour. At 4-3 down, after eighty five minutes, the home side were grateful to two late strikes from Jake Gess and a Marcus Perona winner. The other match saw Thamesmead Town move up to fifth place when they defeated Beckenham Town at home with goals from John-Paul Collier, Sam Thomas and Curtis Williams, the final score 3-1. In the F. A. Cup, Whitstable Town will now play Margate in the Second Round Qualifying on September 30th. Margate beat Fleet Town 1-0 in their replay game. |
